Tonnard is genomineerd voor de C. Buddingh'-prijs 2018 voor haar bundel Voor het ideaal, lees de schaal. Terwijl ze het gedicht 'Coniferen' voorleest, prepareert ze de verzending van haar nieuwste kunstenaarsboek.

De VPRO schrijft erbij:
Factuur, bubble wrap, handtekening. Elisabeth Tonnard maakt een bestelling van haar kunst postklaar.
Dat is op zich een performance. De acht vouwbladen getiteld 'Indirections' bevatten een korte tekst en een foto.
Op haar eigen website zegt ze erover:
Indirections is a series of pamphlets that focus on the manoeuvring involved when things are presented to the public eye. Duplicitous language, selective filters, whether the deceptions of Soviet propaganda or the deceits that I find in my local newspaper (and they are surprisingly similar), bend and spin things that perhaps were never even straight to begin with. Each item in the series is a folded sheet containing a single found image and its caption. The caption is on the front, the image is hidden inside. By uncoupling them, the two elements are each given their own stage – as a result a new space opens up between them. In that space a small tragicomedy is played out.
Tekst en foto horen dus echt bij elkaar, maar lijken dat, zo geïsoleerd, niet meer te doen.
Inmiddels arriveerde het pakketje bij de KB.
En wat kon ik beter doen dan Tonnards performance beantwoorden met het fotograferen van het weer uitpakken van haar nieuwe uitgave?
